Queen’s Bath is a fascinating natural feature located at the northern tip of Kauai. As you walk down to the shoreline, you’ll come across a spot I call Queen’s Bath Falls. The waterfall cascading into the ocean is stunning, but there are also several upstream drops that are equally captivating.
You’ll pass two or three of these smaller falls along the creek as you make your way to Queen’s Bath—they’re easy to spot since the trail runs right alongside the water.
Please exercise caution on your hike. If the surf is high, the trail is often closed. Many people have been injured here because the area doesn’t always appear dangerous, but both the trail and shoreline can be hazardous.
Directions:
- Follow HI-56 north along the shoreline. Enter the town of Princeville.
- In the town of Princeville, turn right along Ka Haku Road (if you were headed north).
- Drive along Ka Haku Road past some different condo/resort areas.
- Turn right onto Punahele Road. This is a road that forms a loop.
- Continue along Punahele Road to where it turns into Kapiolani Loop. You will see a dirt parking area to your left, enough for maybe 8 or 9 cars. You should not be parking in front of any houses/condos.
- From there, you should see a trailhead on the right side of the parking lot. It’s a pretty easy trail to follow once you’ve found it.
